MDP Alliance calls on public to keep celebrations peaceful

Following their victory in the runoff election round of the presidential election held on 28 October, the MDP Alliance has called on its supporters to keep the celebrations peaceful and not to create discord.

The senior leaders of the Alliance made the plea while addressing the hundreds of supporters who gathered at the Lonuziyaaraikolhu area of Male’ early this morning to celebrate. Gasim Ibrahim, who competed against MDP candidate Mohamed Nasheed in the first round of the elections, asked the supporters to not to create disturbances, to obey the law and to keep the peace. more....
