
Police raided a house in Malé’s Henveiru district on Monday night, arresting ten over suspected prostitution.Over 20 police entered Sosun Villa around 8pm, according to eyewitnesses. They broke down five doors and apprehended the ten, believed to include Sri Lankan citizens.Police involvement was reportedly prompted by a tip-off from a neighbour, which was followed by three days of police surveillance before the raid.
As police broke down the doors of five rooms, the ten suspects fled to the roof of the building. But they were apprehended, handcuffed and led to police vans, as a large crowd gathered outside.
