Police discovers items used form making bombs in Maafushi prison

The police had discovered items and materials used to create explosive devices, writings calling for Jihad, mobile phones, sim cards, knives and items that could be used as weapons while searching the cells.

Police superintend Hussain Waheed who lead the operations, said that as the issue is being investigated he cannot give the details.

Hussian Waheed said that during the unrest on 31 March, the DPRS officials and Police ESG had patiently waited and had managed to keep the prisoners within the prison premises until Police arrived the scene, and is a very important responsibility fulfilled by them and thanked them for that. more....
