Police investigating alleged gang rape of two 16-year-olds

The Maldives Police are investigating the case of two 16-year-old girls who were raped by a group of around 25 men inside a house in Malé.

At a news briefing held at the Police Headquarters last Thursday, the Head of the Child and Family Protection Unit, Sub Inspector Mirufath Faiz said that the two girls had gone to M. Baansaage to meet with a boyfriend who wanted to tell them something. He said that the group of around 25 men had tricked the girls into taking a drug and then sexually abused them. more....
