Missing Indian man found dead in Hulhumalé lagoon

An Indian man who fell into the sea while trying to board a dive boat docked in the Hulhumalé lagoon was found dead in the lagoon.

Officials from the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said that Nuzoom Mohamed Ismail, 33, had fallen into the Hulhumalé lagoon while trying to cross over to a dive boat from a safari boat called “Blue Dolphin” last Wednesday afternoon.

According to the MNDF, Nuzoom’s body was found around an hour after he had fallen into the lagoon, and near the area where he had disappeared. By the time the Coast Guard divers had located his body at the bottom of the lagoon he was dead, the MNDF official said. more....
