Rape pre-planned: Police

Maldives Police Service has said that the raping of the 17 year old girl on 11th July in Gn. Fuahmulah was pre planned.

Speaking at Press Briefing which is held every Thursday, Inspector Abdul Mannan from Family and Child Protection Unit said that this action was pre planned and the 17 year old boy who took the girl on a cycle ride also took part in this act.

He said that this boy went to the beach with the girl and some other boys also went to the place at the same time. She was forcefully taken into a sheltered house in the woods and raped.

Inspector Mannan said that 4 people had so far been arrested in this case and one of them is under 18 years. The others arrested are Shifau Ahmed 19 years/ Fuahmulah Kuveythu, Niushad Mohamed 19 years/ Fuahmulah Baaz and Abdullah Zahir 18 years/ Fuahmulah Zamaanee Villa. There are previous records regarding sexual misconduct of these people, Mannan said.

Police further said that they have confiscated the leaked pictures and videos of this rape scene and these videos and pictures prove that these people raped the 17 year old girl.
